Born. 1986, Belfast.
Sarah Kane is a full-time Freelance Photographer based between the United Kingdom and the United States. Sarah was born and raised in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and was raised in a house full of art and creativity. In 2005 she left Belfast and moved to London. She graduated from the University of the Arts London (London College of Communication) in 2008 with a BA (Hons) degree in Photography. Prior to studying in London she graduated from the University of Ulster with a Diploma in Art and Design.
Sarah has worked with numerous commercial and editorial clients from NME, Elle, Concern Worldwide, Q, The Guardian, The Independent, The Northern Ireland Tourist Board, NY-LON, Courriér International and The New York Times. Her work has been the subject of various exhibitions internationally, both in solo and group shows in cities such as London, New York, Los Angeles, Geneva, Belfast, Brighton, Sydney, Toronto and Chicago. Sarah had her first book of work independently published in 2008.
Given her first love being cinema, Sarah aims to create images that would not be out of place as film stills. The visually cinematic tangibility of her images is often coupled with a series of running themes in her work. These themes include Americana, Structure, Loneliness and Cultural Representation.
Sarah is available for commissions and print sales internationally, so please feel free to get in touch.
